About us

Department of Automation and Computer-Integrated Technologies

– is a structural unit Educational and Scientific Institute of Information and Educational Technologies Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy.

The Department of Automation and Computer-Integrated Technologies (AKIT) was established in 2003 to train bachelors in the field of “Automation and Computer-Integrated Technologies” and specialists in “Computer-Integrated Technological Processes and Production.” Over time, the specialties evolved, and today, we train bachelors in “Automation, Computer-Integrated Technologies, and Robotics”, granting them qualifications as bachelors in automation and computer-integrated technologies, engineers in automated production control systems, and information technology specialists.

In 2014, the department launched a master’s program in “Educational and Pedagogical Sciences” with the specialization “Educational Measurement.” In 2017, it was updated to “Information and Communication Technologies in Education,” preparing masters in educational and pedagogical sciences with a focus on information and communication technologies, professionals in information analysis, blended learning tutors, and university lecturers in informatics.

Since 2017, the department has also been offering a bachelor’s program in “Secondary Education (Informatics)”, training specialists in informatics education, school IT teachers, and robotics club leaders.

In 2021, a master’s program in “Metrology and Information-Measuring Technology” was introduced, which was later restructured in 2022 into “Information-Measuring Technologies.” Graduates earn the qualification of masters in metrology and information-measuring technology.

Today, ACIT is:

  • A team of 17 highly qualified staff members, including 9 PhDs and Doctors of Science
  • Over 150 students currently enrolled
  • More than 500 graduates
  • Hundreds of publications, research projects, and defended theses

AKIT is a family that welcomes, educates, and nurtures professionals in IT, engineering, and education.
